a catch of fishy files

my dad is a coffee buff. when i was a kid, i’d stay at my folks’ place on weekends, and my dad will down his coffee whenever he feels like having a caffeine dose. i never thought i’d be addicted to coffee like him. well, as they say, it’s in the genes…

i wake up at 5 in the morning, feeling lost and disoriented, because being the insomniac that i am, 5 in the morning is like 12 midnight in my body clock. i go to work feeling really groggy (like i’m in a hangover stupor or something) and the only thing that manages to wake up all my sleeping cells is a tall order of mocha frap (or a double espresso for days when i just had 3-4 hours of sleep). not that i’m complaining, i’m not. i’m actually thankful, that’s what. thank God for coffee!!! without you, i’d be a walking zombie by the end of the day. whew..

it’s been a while since my last post in this freakin’ blog - yeah, all those pending posts about my birthday celebration in singapore, the excitement with my new job, and all other topics i can think of… well, thank goodness for coffee, i’d be able to write about them in the coming days with all my senses wide awake.. =) i’m still on the adjustment phase what will all the waking up so so early in the morning huhu. i’m beginning to get used to it, but there are days when i just want to curl up in bed and miss the day’s work - but of course, i can’t.. and i don’t want to haha. =p and oh, i’m changing my favorite day of the week from thursday to friday.. haha! thank God for fridays! i love fridays nowadays because that means it’s the last day of the week that i have to wake up when it’s still dark outside wehehe.. okay, so i’m blabbing now. (please bear with me, my eyes are still drooping from lack of sleep, i’m actually imagining things right now).. pfft!

here’s an fyi: "Shiok" is Singlish for "great!" it is an expression of satisfaction. and boy, am i so satisfied as i write this. haha! and i guess it doesn’t take a genius to guess WHERE i’m writing this hwehe.. yep, i’m here in Singapore. why? well, i decided to spend my birthday here to actually avoid treating my friends for a night of booze ahaha! ok, i kid. i kid. i’m here for the company’s newcomers’ training and i’ll be staying here for a little while heehee. our flight back home was moved so we had an extra day to shop and tour the place weeeh! it’s a "shiok" place haha! there’s no freakin’ traffic, breakfast is heaven, cocktails at night are the best <i’m actually sipping white wine right this moment — drool!! ahaha> and i get to have the hotel room for myself. man, this is the life! =)

thanks to my lousy packing abilities, i wasn’t able to bring my laptop with me, including the freakin’ data cable <pfft!> so i have no choice but to google these pics for this blog. <sorry, i’ll update the real pics when i get the chance>… anyhoots, i’m staying at this hotel.. the plaza park royal. what makes it cool is that the girl who attends to us <we’re staying at the 6th floor> is a filipina, and she’s really fun because we get to talk in tagalog while the singaporean butler looks on with a stupid smile on his face hahaha! as i’ve said, the breakfast is heaven!! it’s nice to wake up and look forward to the nice breakfast buffet downstairs where i can down as much bacon as i want hahaha.. i’m getting to be more of a morning person here geezz!!! watda?!

anyhoots, this is our building, where we have our training. it’s called the gateway west.. and it’s like about 5 minutes walk from the hotel hahaha! it’s so cool because i don’t have to hurry at all and i can enjoy the sunny walk before i enter the north pole… wah! it’s not that cold though, but you know, as hours go by, you realize that you’re the only one who’s not wearing a jacket and you suddenly feel the cold and then you give in and wear that goddamn jacket. pfft! btw, it’s 3 days down, 3 more days to go and it’s over. haha. it’s not like the training’s hell.. i actually enjoy it, and i have made some new fwends, hwehe. as of this writing, my two new korean fwends, tini and eli are chatting like crazy on the couch nearby. <i prefer to call them by their catholic names because i dunno how to pronounce and even spell their korean names haha> i’m on the process of remembering every korean phrase they taught me, and it’s freakin’ not easy! ahahaha! =p

i haven’t toured the city yet.. i’ll save that for my extra day ahaha. i can’t wait to spend my birthday here, and i really, really wish i get a birthday cake, even if it’s from the merlion himself. heehee. ciao! =)
